Estimation Technique
The Walk Score calculates the walkability of any given location based on the distance to nearby public transportation. The closer the public transportation is, the higher the Walk Score. Therefore, the higher the score, the more walkable the location. The score is calculated using a formula that weights the distance to different types of public transportation equally.
However, the score does not take into account:
– Hills,
– Sidewalks,
– Number of stops,
– Frequency of service, or
– Destination accessibility
